HeliRussia 2018 to show the “Beauty of rotary-wing machines”
The 11th International helicopter industry exhibition will feature the best images of the industry’s photo and the winners will be awarded.
Participant’s applications are accepted for the main Russian photo contest “Beauty of rotary-wing machines” since January 29. The competition is held for the 11th time and this year it will again illustrate the variety of helicopter applications around the globe. Everyone can take part in the contest submitting no more than 5 photos with helicopters. The contest annually attracts a wide range of photographers from all over the world – professionals and amateurs.
In course of the the 11-year history of the “Beauty of rotary-wing machines”, 621 photographers from 14 countries took part in it, submitting a total of 3,187 photographs. 95 people were awarded. In 2017, 341 photographs were received from 41 participants that represented 4 countries.
The photo contest jury evaluates the photos in four categories: helicopter at work, military helicopter, helicopter at sports, helicopter and nature. Weekly, as new photos are received, the Internet-voting for the Absolute Leader title will be held on the Helicopter Industry Association (HIA) website. Also, there are two more special prizes for the best shot of Kamov and Mil helicopters.

Results of the photo contest and awarding ceremony will traditionally take place at the International Helicopter Industry Exhibition HeliRussia 2018 on Saturday, May 26. Gallery of the 40 best photos of the contest will be opened in all 3 days in the course of the expo.
“Beauty of rotary-wing machines” photo contest is held by the HIA. This year the partners of the competition are Aeropribor-Voskhod (part of KRET), Russian House of Aviation, ForaFarm group and the Russian Helicopter Sport Federation.
