HeliRussia 2020: results of the first day

On Tuesday, September 15, the International Exhibition of the Helicopter Industry HeliRussia 2020 started in Moscow. The event will run until September 17 in the Pavilion 1 of the Crocus Expo exhibition complex.

Despite the postponement of HeliRussia, the interest of the professional community has been preserved. More than 150 companies from 12 countries of the world are participating in the exhibition.

The  Official Opening Ceremony of the exhibition was attended by: First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Mr. Vladimir Kozhin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Oleg Bocharov, Acting Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Mr.  Alexey Novgorodov, Head of Roscosmos State Corporation Mr. Dmitry Rogozin, CEO of JSC Russian Helicopters Mr.Andrey Boginsky, President of the Union of Russian Aircraft Manufacturers Mr. Boris Aleshin, Chairman of the Board of the Association of the Helicopter Industry Mr. Mikhail Kazachkov, General Director of UTair Aviation Mr. Andrey Martirosov.

Mr. Vladimir Kozhin read out the Official Address to the participants and guests of the exhibition on behalf of Mr. Vladimir Putin. In the

Address, Mr. Vladimir Putin noted that HeliRussia invariably attracts the attention of specialists, experts and the general public, serves as an authoritative platform for strengthening international cooperation, building up mutually beneficial contracts, launching future projects.

On the stage of HeliRussia Mr.Alexey Novgorodov presented diplomas to 5 graduates of the Omsk Aviation Technical College of Civil Aviation named after A.V. Lyapidevsky. Thanks to a joint project of the college, Federal Air Transport Agency, Russian Helicopter Systems JSC and UTair-Helicopter Services JSC, the cadets were able to undergo flight training on Ansat helicopters and tomorrow graduates will join the ranks of co-pilots.

Over 15 aircrafts, including unmanned aerial vehicles, are on display at HeliRussia 2020. Besides, the expo of aviation equipment presented more than 80 developments: equipment, units, systems and components.

Among the important business events of the first day was the signing of an agreement between the Russian Helicopters holding and the Polar Airlines. The document provides for full service support for the operation of Ansat helicopters, which will be supplied to the operator from 2021.

For the first time at HeliRussia, advanced developments were presented by resident companies of. Skolkovo Foundation within the joint stand: autonomous drones, convertiplanes, ultralight helicopters and other innovative products.

One of the topical novelties presented at the exhibition is the infectious transport box. JSC Russian Helicopter Systems demonstrated the boxing equipment of the company’s helicopters. The box is used to isolate the patient in a sealed environment with a recirculation of purified air in order to minimize the possibility of contamination of doctors and flight technicians. The use of boxing allowed the company to carry out ambulance flights during a pandemic and transport infectious patients.

The Business Program of the exhibition on the first day consisted of more than 15 events. 

The flagship was a panel “Financial instruments for the helicopter industry”, the panel was divided into 2 parts: “State policy and strategic management instruments”, and “Leasing and insurance instruments for the helicopter industry”. 

The event was attended by Mr.Dmitry Lysogorskiy, Director of the Aviation Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Head of the Air Transport Industrial Development Department of the Civil Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport Mr. Anton Nikiforov, VEB.RF Managing Director Mr.Alexey Chistyakov, First Deputy Director of the Industry Development Fund Mr. Alexey Kuznetsov, as well as representatives of the financial sector: banks, investment, leasing and insurance companies. 

The panel was moderated by Mrs. Natalia Trofimova, Deputy General Director of RVS-Holding, Director for Strategy and Development. 

Panelists formed a vision of financial instruments and mutual economic behavior that will help strengthen the industry.

Key events of the first day also were: the Round table “Unmanned Aircraft for the Economic Development of Russia”, organized by JSC “Kronshtadt”, presentations of the engines of JSC “UEC”, Round table “Design and construction of helipads”, organized by JSC “Russian Helicopter Systems” and the 12th International Conference “Helicopter Market: Realities and Prospects”, organized by the Helicopter Industry Association and AVIAPORT Agency.
