FAR-21: New Opportunities in Modernizing the Fleet of Helicopters in Operation

In September 2019, the FAR (Federal Aviation Rules) “Certification of aircraft equipment, aircraft designer organizations, developer organizations and manufacturers. Part 21” came into force. It opens up new opportunities in the modernization of the Russian-made helicopter fleet. The new term “aircraft modification developer” allows any organization that has received the appropriate certificate from the Federal air transport Agency to modify the aircraft, which ultimately contributes to solving the problem of increasing the competitiveness of the operated fleet.

The technical Committee of the Helicopter Industry Association will hold a panel discussion within the framework of HeliRussia 2020 business program, where will be discussed the prospects for implementing the Institute of aircraft modification developer in Russia in relation to all its market participants. Participants of the event will be: operators, organizations that have a developer certificate for FAR-21, representatives of the Russian Helicopters holding, state regulatory and certification of aviation equipment authorities.

Conference moderator:

Oleg Vladimirovich Khudolenko , Deputy General Director for Scientific and Technological Progress, Quality and Safety, Doctor of Technical Sciences, JSC NPK Application of Aviation in the National Economy (JSC NPK PANH).
