A unique air cargo platform SKYF to be presented at HeliRussia 2018
In addition to helicopters, new unmanned aerial vehicles are demonstrated every year at the International helicopter industry exhibition HeliRussia. This year the world’s first commercial multi-rotor SKYF air cargo platform to be showcased at the expo.
The UAV is developed by “Aviaresheniya” from Kazan, Russia. SKYF is intended specifically for the cargo transportation. The maximum load capacity is up to 250 kg and with 50 kg cargo its maximum flight distance reaches 350 km with duration up to 8 hours.
In addition to cargo transportation, SKYF air cargo platform can be used for agricultural chemical treatment and for aerial firefighting. Efficiency and safety of operations are provided by a unique patented aerodynamic scheme with separation of lifting and maneuvering rotors, new control algorithms and avionics. The advantages of using SKYF for farmers will be presented at the 1st All-Russian Conference on the Agricultural Aviation Development, which will be held on May 24 as part of HeliRussia 2018.
Development of SKYF started back in 2014. Maiden flight of the full-size test prototype took place in the spring of 2016. Now the team of more than 30 experts is working the platform, testing and improving the model, which differs significantly from other multi-rotor systems: it’s equipped with a gasoline engine and has full autonomy. HeliRussia 2018 will feature a fully operational SKYF prototype, involved in flight trials.
Visitors of the expo and media representatives are invited to take part in the official presentation of the SKYF UAV. It will be held at 10:30AM on May 24, at the booth 5L.
The 11th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition HeliRussia 2018 will be held from 24 to 26 May in Moscow at the Crocus Expo IEC. Currently, visitor registration and media accreditation is underway.
